Description
Bring the flavours of the mountains to your cheeseboard with Petit Sapin, a beautifully indulgent, spruce-wrapped cheese that captures the rustic charm and Alpine character of a traditional mountain cheese. With its resemblance to a miniature Vacherin Mont d’Or, Petit Sapin is a real treat for cheese lovers, combining a distinctive woodland aroma with a rich, creamy interior that becomes wonderfully soft and spoonable as it matures.
Wrapped in fragrant spruce bark, this special cheese has a delicate, earthy character that evokes alpine forests and crisp mountain air. Its flavour is rich, buttery and gently savoury, with subtle woody notes from the spruce adding depth and complexity. It is a cheese that feels both rustic and luxurious, making it a beautiful centrepiece for a cheeseboard or a cosy evening of indulgence.
Absolutely delicious baked, Petit Sapin transforms into a gloriously gooey, molten cheese, perfect for dipping chunks of crusty bread, roasted potatoes or crisp crackers. Simply place it in an ovenproof dish, warm until the centre is soft and bubbling, and serve straight to the table for a wonderfully convivial sharing experience.
Although it makes a particularly special addition to a Christmas cheeseboard, Petit Sapin is available throughout the year, bringing a little Alpine indulgence to any occasion. Serve it alongside crunchy cornichons and a selection of cured meats, such as saucisson sec or prosciutto, to balance its rich creaminess with a refreshing, tangy bite and savoury depth.
Whether enjoyed as part of a festive feast, a relaxed supper with friends or an indulgent cheeseboard for two, Petit Sapin is a delicious way to experience the comforting, rustic flavours of the mountains.
Serving suggestion: For a simple yet spectacular centrepiece, bake until soft and molten, then serve with crusty sourdough, cornichons, cured meats and a glass of crisp white wine.
How much to buy
The individual cheese weighs approximately 250g.
All cheeses are hand cut, therefore the weights listed are approximate. We work very hard to cut them as accurately as we can and happy to offer advice on purchasing the right amount if you are unsure. If you would like a price for larger weights or whole cheeses, please call us.
Delivery
We send our cheese by Royal Mail Tracked 24, with next-day delivery available across all UK postcodes for £4.99 per parcel. Orders over £60 qualify for free delivery.
We carefully pack every order to help keep your cheese in the best possible condition during transit. Royal Mail are very reliable, and most parcels arrive within 24 hours, but occasional delays can happen.
If you’re ordering cheese for a special occasion, party or event, we recommend having it delivered a couple of days beforehand. This gives you some extra time in case of an unexpected courier delay and allows the cheese to rest and reach its best before serving.
We currently deliver throughout the UK but do not offer international delivery.
How We Pack Your Cheese
Every order is cut and packed by hand, fresh to order by our team of cheesemongers.
Your cheese is wrapped in breathable waxed paper, which allows it to breathe while helping to protect it during transit and in your fridge. It is then placed inside a thermal foil pouch with a frozen gel pack to keep it cool on its journey. The gel pack will naturally defrost during transit; this is completely normal.
Finally, everything is carefully packed into a branded box to keep your order safe and presentable when it arrives.
We’re also conscious of the environmental impact of packaging. Around 95% of our packaging is recyclable or reusable, and we’re continually looking for ways to reduce waste and make our business more sustainable. We believe great cheese should be enjoyed with consideration for the planet, too.

Suggestion – British Antipasti Meat Selection
Baked in the oven topped with white wine, garlic and rosemary. Once soft an bubbling, dip fresh bread, breadsticks, pickles and fresh vegetables.
This is like a mini Vacherin Mont D'Or with just as much flavour and character. Wrapped in spruce, it gives the cheese a flavour of the forest with subtle pine notes. A wonderful winter cheese with a fantastic texture.
