About us
The Cheese Society is a Lincoln based, independent, family-run business, owned by uncle-and-niece duo Adam and Lucie.
We believe cheese should be approachable, affordable and, above all, full of flavour. That’s where a good independent cheesemonger comes in. We seek out exceptional cheeses from brilliant makers and make it easy for you to discover something better than the ordinary.
We’re also big believers in good old-fashioned customer service. Whether you’re shopping online or in our Lincoln shop, there’s always a real person at the end of the phone or an email away, ready to answer your questions and help you find the right cheese.

FAQ
WHEN WILL MY CHEESE BE DELIVERED?
We deliver all over the UK Tuesday to Friday each week, using standard overnight next-day delivery. The cut off for next day delivery is 12pm the day before.
WHEN CAN I COLLECT MY CHEESE?
Your orders can be collected from our shop in Lincoln Wednesday - Saturday each week, or alternatively from our warehouse Monday - Friday each week.
HOW LONG WILL MY CHEESE LAST IN TRANSIT?
Our cheese is packed in thermally insulating foil bags, along with a food-grade ice pack. Under normal conditions, this will keep the cheese in good condition for approximately 48 hours. This can be affected by the ambient temperature outside, though we take precautions such as adding additional ice packs to help protect against excessive or unusual heat
HOW LONG WILL MY CHEESE LAST ONCE IT'S DELIVERED?
Once cut, most of our cheeses will have a best before date of 12-14 days when stored properly. We recommend keeping the cheese wrapped in our breathable wax paper in the fridge, as this will help stop the cheese from ‘sweating’, and help it last longer.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I'M NOT IN WHEN MY CHEESE IS DELIVERED?
If your delivery arrives while you’re not in, the delivery drivers are instructed by default to find a safe location to leave your parcel. You can also give more specific instructions at our checkout, which will then be passed on to the delivery drivers!
WHAT DO I DO WHEN MY CHEESE ARRIVES?
Once your cheese arrives with you, we recommend putting it in the fridge for a while for it to firm up after the transit.
CAN I ADD A GIFT MESSAGE TO A DELIVERY?
Yes you can! At the checkout page, there will be a box in which you can type out a gift message. This will then be printed in a gift card inside your delivery!
DOES THE CHEESE COME GIFT BOXED? HOW DOES IT ARRIVE?
Yes, your cheese order will arrive beautifully presented in a branded box. No costs or invoices are included in any of our deliveries.
The cheese is wrapped in breathable wax paper, which is then packed into a thermally insulative bag along with a food-grade ice pack. This is then wrapped with paper, and placed within a Cheese Society gift box, along with a gift card, and tasting notes.
