Description

Lincolnshire Red is loosely based on an old-fashioned traditional Red Leicester recipe, made by the makers of Lincolnshire Poacher in the heart of the Lincolnshire Wolds. It has a clean, delicate nutty flavour.

It is made using fresh unpasteurised milk from their 230 strong herd of pedigree Holstein Friesians and matured for around four to six months, using vegetarian rennet. Annatto, a natural colour obtained from the seed of the achiote tree from South America, is added to give the cheese its rich full red colour.

The cheese is made on the farm in large 20kg drum-shaped truckles.

Please note: the rind on Lincolnshire Red is not edible. Allergen advice: this product contains annatto.

How much to buy

Each wedge weighs approximately 2kg.

All cheeses are hand cut, therefore the weights listed are approximate. We work very hard to cut them as accurately as we can and happy to offer advice on purchasing the right amount if you are unsure. If you would like a price for larger weights or whole cheeses, please call us.

Delivery

Your cheese is cut fresh to order, wrapped and packed by hand and delivered on the day you choose. We deliver across the UK from Tuesday to Friday each week. If you are ordering for a gift or special occasion we advise you to always allow an extra day in case of any unforeseen courier delays.

Recipe / pairing suggestion

Suggestion – LINCOLNSHIRE PLUM BREAD

The perfect cheese for a ploughman's, with a glass of craft beer and a fruity chutney. Also very good in a cheese scone.

Red Leicester made properly, with raw milk, five miles from the shop. Hard to beat for a ploughman's.
