Smoked Stilton

The Stilton made by Tuxford & Tebbutt is one of the best remaining Stiltons currently in production. The cheese is soft and crumbly with a creamy consistency, mellow in both flavour and texture.

Smoked Tuxford & Tebbutt Stilton is made using their classic Stilton recipe, a cheese that has been made in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire since 1780. It is then smoked in Lancashire, cut into sections first so the smoke penetrates thoroughly.

The result is an unusual oak-smoked Stilton with an interesting combination of toasty, warm oaky flavours that work beautifully against the buttery strength of the classic underneath.

It really depends on the occasion, and, of course, how much you love cheese!

As a general guide, for a cheeseboard serving 6 people, we recommend allowing 40–60g of each cheese per person, with 3–4 different cheeses at around 250g each. This gives you a good variety of flavours and textures, with enough for everyone to enjoy without creating too much leftover cheese.

For parties, weddings, events or larger gatherings, the amount you’ll need can vary depending on how the cheese is being served and what else you’re offering. Our cheesemongers are always happy to help, so please get in touch by phone or email for personalised advice.

Please note: all cheeses are cut by hand; therefore, the weights listed are approximate. We work very hard to cut them as accurately as we can.  

We send our cheese by Royal Mail Tracked 24, with next-day delivery available across all UK postcodes for £4.99 per parcel. Orders over £60 qualify for free delivery.

We carefully pack every order to help keep your cheese in the best possible condition during transit. Royal Mail are very reliable, and most parcels arrive within 24 hours, but occasional delays can happen.

If you’re ordering cheese for a special occasion, party or event, we recommend having it delivered a couple of days beforehand. This gives you some extra time in case of an unexpected courier delay and allows the cheese to rest and reach its best before serving.

We currently deliver throughout the UK but do not offer international delivery.

Every order is cut and packed by hand, fresh to order by our team of cheesemongers.

Your cheese is wrapped in breathable waxed paper, which allows it to breathe while helping to protect it during transit and in your fridge. It is then placed inside a thermal foil pouch with a frozen gel pack to keep it cool on its journey. The gel pack will naturally defrost during transit; this is completely normal.

Finally, everything is carefully packed into a branded box to keep your order safe and presentable when it arrives.

We’re also conscious of the environmental impact of packaging. Around 95% of our packaging is recyclable or reusable, and we’re continually looking for ways to reduce waste and make our business more sustainable. We believe great cheese should be enjoyed with consideration for the planet, too.

Suggestion – Lincolnshire Plum Bread

Plum bread and a glass of port. The smoke adds another layer the sweet flavours of the plum bread and the fruity notes in the port. Classic pairings done well are the best.
