Description

Horseradish La Bouse is a luxuriously creamy fresh cheese with a delicate layer of horseradish running through its centre. The twin to the seasonal Wild Garlic La Bouse, its smooth, silky interior is balanced by a bright, tangy freshness, while the horseradish adds a gentle peppery lift that complements rather than overwhelms.

An excellent addition to a cheeseboard, it pairs beautifully with roast beef, cured meats, crisp crackers and a spoonful of caramelised onion chutney. A wonderfully fresh, savoury cheese with just the right amount of bite.

It is made by the Swiss cheesemakers Jumi, founded in Switzerland's Emmental Valley by Jürg Wyss and Mike Glauser. Jumi are a small, pioneering outfit known for pushing at the edges of traditional Alpine cheesemaking.

How much to buy

The individual cheese weighs approximately 200g.

All cheeses are hand cut, therefore the weights listed are approximate. We work very hard to cut them as accurately as we can and happy to offer advice on purchasing the right amount if you are unsure. If you would like a price for larger weights or whole cheeses, please call us.

Delivery

Your cheese is cut fresh to order, wrapped and packed by hand and delivered on the day you choose. We deliver across the UK from Tuesday to Friday each week. If you are ordering for a gift or special occasion we advise you to always allow an extra day in case of any unforeseen courier delays.

Recipe / pairing suggestion

Suggestion – ANTIPASTO SHARING PACK

Made for roast beef and cured meats. The horseradish does what horseradish always does, so treat it as part of the plate rather than just the cheeseboard.

Horseradish through the middle of a fresh cheese sounds odd and works completely. Try it with cold roast beef.
