Boxing Day Board
Description
The ideal cheeseboard for those entertaining on Boxing Day. Christmas is a time for food, especially cheese and Boxing Day has turned into a secondary Christmas Day. Whether you’re having friends over for lunch or putting out grazing food, cheese is an essential part of this time of year. We’ve done a little twist on the Christmas classics with this selection, bringing in a few unusual, but popular cheeses.
A delivery for those who are into a slightly different cheeseboard, we've paired this delivery with the delicate and delicious Thyme-infused French honey and Welbeck Sourdough crackers.
Serves up to 8 people.
Pack Includes
EPOISSES HALF - Weight 125g
A pungent, sticky, pale orange, washed rind, double cream cheese from the Côte d'Or in Burgundy. Epoisses de Bourgogne AOC has a creamy, pungent centre and a slightly meaty taste, similar to the first washed rind cheeses dating back to 90 AD.
VINTAGE RED FOX - Weight 200g
Vintage Red Fox is a Red Leicester style cheese with a distinct crunch. It has a smooth, sweet, mellow flavour and a flaky, open texture. Like other red cheeses, it takes its colour from annatto, a flavourless natural dye from a South American plant.
SHROPSHIRE BLUE - Weight 200g
This award-winning Shropshire Blue has an exquisite, nutty flavour shot through with spicy notes. Its delightful taste and creamy texture are matched by its appearance, with blue veins radiating through a deep orange russet body.
DOZMARY - Weight 250g
Dozmary is a bold, characterful soft cheese made in Cornwall. Named after Dozmary Pool on Bodmin Moor, the legendary lake said to be the final resting place of King Arthur’s sword, Excalibur, it takes inspiration from the wild landscape and folklore of its Cornish home.
FOWLER'S SAGE DERBY - Weight 200g
Fowlers Sage Derby is a firm-bodied cheese made to traditional methods, originally by Fowlers of Earlswood in Warwickshire, using milk from a local supplier less than four miles from the dairy.
THYME-INFUSED HONEY - Weight 30g
Thyme-Infused Honey is the perfect mix of sweet and savoury. Ideal drizzled over grilled goat’s cheese on crusty bread.
DRIVER'S SWEET CORNICHONS - Weight 550g
Whole Indian cornichons pickled in white balsamic vinegar, perfect with Alpine cheeses, strong cheddars and soft blue cheeses.
FOURSEED SOURDOUGH CRACKERS - Weight: 100g
Fourseed Sourdough Crackers are unique crackers made by a local bakery. Made from the starter used for their fresh sourdough loaves, creating toasty, crunchy, robust crackers.
Delivery
We send our cheese by Royal Mail Tracked 24, with next-day delivery available across all UK postcodes for £4.99 per parcel. Orders over £60 qualify for free delivery.
We carefully pack every order to help keep your cheese in the best possible condition during transit. Royal Mail are very reliable, and most parcels arrive within 24 hours, but occasional delays can happen.
If you’re ordering cheese for a special occasion, party or event, we recommend having it delivered a couple of days beforehand. This gives you some extra time in case of an unexpected courier delay and allows the cheese to rest and reach its best before serving.
We currently deliver throughout the UK but do not offer international delivery.
How We Pack Your Cheese
Every order is cut and packed by hand, fresh to order by our team of cheesemongers.
Your cheese is wrapped in breathable waxed paper, which allows it to breathe while helping to protect it during transit and in your fridge. It is then placed inside a thermal foil pouch with a frozen gel pack to keep it cool on its journey. The gel pack will naturally defrost during transit; this is completely normal.
Finally, everything is carefully packed into a branded box to keep your order safe and presentable when it arrives.
We’re also conscious of the environmental impact of packaging. Around 95% of our packaging is recyclable or reusable, and we’re continually looking for ways to reduce waste and make our business more sustainable. We believe great cheese should be enjoyed with consideration for the planet, too.
“We always have a big crew over on Boxing Day, and we’re so shattered from all the cooking the day before that we just like to lay out a big board of cheeses, cooked meats, bread and pickles. This delivery takes out the thinking and always includes a great range of interesting cheeses that go down well with our family and friends.”
