Snowdrop is a mild, mould-ripened cheese, soft, smooth, velvety and rich with a savoury nose, similar in character to a French Saint Félicien.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt is made by our local cheesemakers Mary and Michael Davenport at Cote Hill Dairy. The cheese is named in honour of Cynthia, the Davenport matriarch who started the dairy at Cote Hill Farm in the 1950s. Snowdrops were her favourite flower, and they grow right across the farm, thriving in the hedgerows and verges.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cheese varies from season to season depending on the milk the cows are producing, which is part of its charm. Royal Mail are very reliable, and most parcels arrive within 24 hours, but occasional delays can happen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you’re ordering cheese for a special occasion, party or event, we recommend having it delivered a couple of days beforehand. This gives you some extra time in case of an unexpected courier delay and allows the cheese to rest and reach its best before serving.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe currently deliver throughout the UK but do not offer international delivery.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eHow We Pack Your Cheese\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEvery order is cut and packed by hand, fresh to order by our team of cheesemongers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYour cheese is wrapped in breathable waxed paper, which allows it to breathe while helping to protect it during transit and in your fridge. It is then placed inside a thermal foil pouch with a frozen gel pack to keep it cool on its journey. The gel pack will naturally defrost during transit; this is completely normal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFinally, everything is carefully packed into a branded box to keep your order safe and presentable when it arrives.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe’re also conscious of the environmental impact of packaging. Around 95% of our packaging is recyclable or reusable, and we’re continually looking for ways to reduce waste and make our business more sustainable.
