Back in 1899 there were hundreds of local cheddar producers. Keens are one of only a small handful to have survived, still making traditional cheddar the way it should be made, with raw unpasteurised milk from grass-fed cows living on their own farm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe process begins with twelve hours of milking. The milk is not stored, not transported and not tampered with. Each truckle is then given its own spot on a shelf to mature, turned by hand regularly so the quality stays consistent throughout, and graded at three, six and nine months.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eHow much to buy\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAll cheeses are hand cut, therefore the weights listed are approximate. Royal Mail are very reliable, and most parcels arrive within 24 hours, but occasional delays can happen.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIf you’re ordering cheese for a special occasion, party or event, we recommend having it delivered a couple of days beforehand. This gives you some extra time in case of an unexpected courier delay and allows the cheese to rest and reach its best before serving.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe currently deliver throughout the UK but do not offer international delivery.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003ch2\u003eHow We Pack Your Cheese\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEvery order is cut and packed by hand, fresh to order by our team of cheesemongers.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYour cheese is wrapped in breathable waxed paper, which allows it to breathe while helping to protect it during transit and in your fridge. It is then placed inside a thermal foil pouch with a frozen gel pack to keep it cool on its journey. The gel pack will naturally defrost during transit; this is completely normal.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFinally, everything is carefully packed into a branded box to keep your order safe and presentable when it arrives.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe’re also conscious of the environmental impact of packaging.
